Activities for children

Here are a range of fun activities which you can do with your children, family and friends - all connecting children with nature. There's a selection of spotter sheets to use on woodland and countryside walks, from flowers and leaves to minibeasts and wildlife. Plus there are other activities too, like how to dissect owl pellets. 

So let’s get those imaginations running free outdoors, engage the senses and keep learning and exploring.

    The UK has 6 native reptile species including the curious slow-worm (Anguis fragilis). Although serpent-like in appearance, slow-worms are in fact limbless lizards and an amazing example of de-evolution.
