Farms & Wildlife Our Properties Pierrepont Farm Pierrepont Farm is a 200-acre working regenerative dairy farm located near Frensham in Surrey. Pierrepont is a rural idyll popular with walkers and cyclists using local footpaths. It has an area of woodland and the River Wey runs through its margins. The adjacent water meadows are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).The dairy farm is based in the New Dairy, whilst the 'Old Dairy' has been transformed into a courtyard of restored Grade II listed buildings used by local artisans for making and selling everything from fudge and cheese to jewellery and furniture. The farm was kindly gifted to the CRT by the late Jo Reader in 2006. Tenant farmer, Kayleigh Robb took over the running of the farm in April 2024 with big plans to work together with us to develop the dairy farm's regenerative future. Kayleigh has firstly returned the herd to its original 50 milking Jersey cows. By reducing the herd it has taken some of the pressure off of the grazing platform and allowed less productive land to be reseeded with herbal leys rich in clover, sainfoin, lucerne and chicory. By mixing longer tap root grass species, it will help protect the sandy soil during the Summer months. The grazing areas will also be planted with more trees and hedgerows to divide up paddocks. This will provide extra shelter for livestock and give birds and wildlife even more habitat. Nature at the farm The River Wey, noted for its aquatic invertebrates, runs through the margins of the farm, and the adjacent water meadows are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for flora such as southern marsh orchid and devils-bit scabious. CRT volunteers manage this precious habitat, as well as the mature bluebell woodlands and hedgerows. The Old Dairy Pierrepont Farm’s Old Dairy is home to a range of artisan businesses, offering delicious cheeses, eye-catching artworks, mouth-watering fudge, dazzling jewellery, and fabulous furniture. Opening times vary, but all welcome visits. The Old Dairy The Grain Barn We are currently renovating the Grade II listed Grain Barn at Pierrepont Farm. Located alongside our range of artisans in the Old Dairy, the barn is being transformed into five commercial units which will be available to rent late Spring 2026.
