Be a Friend of the Countryside

The CRT takes a holistic view of why the countryside matters. Wildlife, food production, employment, economics and development are all essential. We believe that our future food security, human over-population and the biodiversity crisis must all be addressed.

Every Friend of the CRT is helping us to create a healthier countryside through nature-friendly farming; creating vital habitats for native wildlife on our farms, while continuing to grow the food we need.

From just £30 a year, as a CRT Friend you will receive:

  • The Lark - our bi-annual 52-page magazine brimming with wildlife success stories, regenerative farming best practices and new conservation opportunities
  • Regular news round ups by e-mail
  • Hear about opportunities to volunteer at your local CRT conservation projects

  • What We Do

    What We Do

The CRT promotes nature-friendly farming to help reverse biodiversity decline and combat climate change. We believe nature is integral to good farming and we protect, promote and regenerate our land and all life on it. We put our philosophy into practice on over 2,000 acres of working farms, small-holdings and woodland across England.

The UK has 6 native reptile species including the curious slow-worm (Anguis fragilis). Although serpent-like in appearance, slow-worms are in fact limbless lizards and an amazing example of de-evolution.
