Santa joins Bere Marsh Farm’s first Christmas Farmers’ Market A special visitor will be dropping in to Bere Marsh Farm next month as part of our first-ever Christmas Farmers’ Market. The Teddy20 Santa Sleigh will bring festive sparkle to the event on Sunday, December 7, giving children the chance to meet Santa and receive a special gift. The market will open at 11am in the Threshing Barn, where Santa himself will officially declare the festivities underway. Visitors can browse a range of local producers and craftspeople offering Christmas treats and gifts, including Purbeck Ice Cream, Mikey’s Dog Rescue, Soapbox Spirits, The CoCo House, and photography by Marilyn Peddle. The CRT will also have a stall selling our 2026 wildlife calendar, filled with stunning images of farm life and nature, along with handmade wildlife boxes created by volunteers and our own rare-breed pork, which makes a fantastic alternative to the usual Christmas Turkey! The Buzz Café will be open throughout the day, serving homemade seasonal goodies and hot drinks, thanks to our fabulous volunteers. The charity Teddy 20 provides emotional and financial support to children and young people suffering and undergoing treatment for Cancer. The Teddy20 Santa Sleigh last year Sophie Ferry, Teddy20 Public Relations Coordinator, said: “Bere Marsh Farm is a wonderful hub of community and countryside, so it felt like the perfect place for our Santa Sleigh to stop this year. “Since 2018, the Sleigh Run has been a much-loved Teddy20 tradition bringing festive joy to families while raising vital funds to support children and young people with cancer. “It’s all about spreading kindness, laughter, and a little Christmas magic wherever we go. We do our best to keep it affordable, so every child has the chance to see Santa and share in the magic.” Hannah Bosence, Bere Marsh Farm Estate Manager, said: “We’re delighted to team up with Teddy20 to bring this very special guest to our first Christmas Farmers’ Market. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone for a day filled with local produce, festive gifts, and, of course, a visit from Santa himself.” The Christmas Farmers’ Market will open from 11am to 3pm, with Santa in attendance until 2pm. A small fee will apply to meet Santa, which includes a gift and photo opportunity. The event is part of the CRT’s Christmas Campaign, which supports the charity’s work to restore wildlife habitats and champion nature-friendly farming. Supporters can also get involved by purchasing the CRT’s 2026 wall calendar, giving the gift of a CRT Friendship, or donating to the Hazel Dormice Appeal to fund footprint tunnels and shelter belts across CRT farms.
