The names are out!

We can reveal our four new pigs at Bere Marsh Farm in Dorset are called Pinky, Perky, Porky and Patch!

The Oxford Sandy and Blacks, who made the short journey from nearby Ham Farm, are quickly settling into their new home.

They’ve already started to do what they do best—helping to disturb the soil in preparation for new seeds and regeneration.

It’s the third time we’ve had pigs on the farm, and we couldn’t be happier to see them back in action!

Hannah Bosence, Bere Marsh Farm Estate Manager, said: “We love having the pigs back on the farm.

“They're doing a wonderful job turning over the soil and are such a great breed to work with.

“We're very lucky to have a breeder just down the road. In the mid 80's the Oxford Sandy and Blacks were on the brink of extinction, but thanks to breeders like Lillie Smith, they are making a comeback, and we're delighted to give this docile rare breed a happy home for the summer.”

Our volunteers help look after the pigs, with their special group called Pig Watch.

“Our volunteers do a fantastic job working in pairs on a roster basis to feed and check on the pigs,” added Hannah.
