Throughout the event, The Buzz Cafe will be open, selling tea, coffee, soft drinks and delicious homemade cakes. About Andy Knott Andy Knott, one half of Jurassic Coast Mushrooms, has a background in foraging and identifying wild mushrooms. His goal, and that of his business partner, is the cultivation of rare native mushrooms for local businesses and rewilding projects, helping improve biodiversity and support the UK’s unique fungal ecosystems. Andy has a permanent base at Duck Farm Workshops in Puddletown, so along with the fresh mushrooms and cloning, Jurassic Coast Mushrooms sell myco cultivation products for home growers, medicinal mushroom products and regular mushroom cultivation workshops to share expert knowledge. Andy enjoys taking groups out to teach others about the magical world of mushrooms, but the vital message which underpins all his activities is the one around the preservation of native breeds: “We’re taking mushrooms that are rare or locally extinct and preserving them in our lab. Some species only grow in ancient woodland, and as those habitats are destroyed, so are the fungi. We're trying to stop that.” The details Participation fee: £50 per adult / £48 per CRT Friend or Volunteer The workshop will take approximately 2.5 hours. Booking is essential as spaces are limited.
