The Friday Farm Walk

Join us on Fridays for a guided walk around the farm

Led either by Hannah Bosence, the farm estate manager, a member of our volunteer team or other guest leads, join us every Friday for inspiring walks across the landscape of Bere Marsh Farm. Starts Friday 3rd April - no need to book, just turn up on the day.

Discover how we manage the varied areas of the farm estate, which include meadows, river and flood plain, and learn how agroecological farming practices here support nature and wildlife - and the importance of those practices to the local area.

Enjoy being outside and gaining access to some of the ‘private’ spaces here, such as the Angela Hughes Nature Reserve and Ham Down, and gain practical advice on how to enhance habitats in your own outdoor spaces.

The Buzz Café will be open selling tea, coffee and soft drinks as well as delicious cakes made by our CRT volunteers.

Everyone welcome - children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sturdy waterproof footwear essential. Please dress according to forecast weather conditions on the day.

Public parking in a specially designated and clearly signed field is available at Bere Marsh Farm.

Folk Song Walk and Tea

Explore a beautiful part of the county, discover the nature to be found on our doorstep, and hear songs relating to the natural and rural world, we meet along the way. Followed by drinks, homemade savoury scones and cakes.
Creative workshop: willow weaving garden sculptures

Weave your own garden sculpture such as a dragonfly or flower using willow harvested from Bere Marsh Farm. Guided by expert Yanina Stockings, you'll learn different techniques, ideal for beginners and keen weavers.
Photography workshop: close work in nature

Join us for a talk, walk and practical session with wildlife photographer Marilyn Peddle. Focused on the art of close work in nature photography, Marilyn will start with a talk, then the group will go for a walk on the farm amongst nature, providing the ideal opportunity to practise close work photography skills.
Saturday creative at the farm

Every Saturday 11am-12pm from May to September (unless other events on). Free creative sessions with Charlotte, both guided and self-led, which connect you to the wildlife and landscape of Bere Marsh Farm. Donations welcome.
Food and Countryside at Pierrepont Farm

Discover a variety of local foods and countryside activities at The Old Dairy. Sample a mix of foods to enjoy on the day and to take away, as we combine food and the countryside.
Summer workshop: grow mushrooms on wood

Led by expert mycologist Andy Knott of Jurassic Coast Mushrooms, a hands-on workshop to learn how and why to grow mushrooms in wood. Take the log home with you to grow mushrooms in your garden.

Nestle in Landscape - mixed media art workshop

Sketch outdoors at Bere Marsh Farm and then bring your work to life using tea bags, sticks and Chinese brush techniques. Led by art tutor Genny at this fun and relaxed session, learn new techniques using a range of tools and paper.

What We Do

The CRT promotes nature-friendly farming to help reverse biodiversity decline and combat climate change. We believe nature is integral to good farming and we protect, promote and regenerate our land and all life on it. We put our philosophy into practice on over 2,000 acres of working farms, small-holdings and woodland across England.

Slow-worms – the gardener’s best friend

The UK has 6 native reptile species including the curious slow-worm (Anguis fragilis). Although serpent-like in appearance, slow-worms are in fact limbless lizards and an amazing example of de-evolution.

The CRT has a wide range of wonderful properties across the UK. Many of these have been left to us in legacy whilst others were purchased to save the land - full of precious ecosystems and habitats - from intensive farming.
