Statement on sale of Turnastone Court Farm

Turnastone Court Farm is located in West Herefordshire’s beautiful Golden Valley area. The 247-acre ancient water meadow farm borders the River Dore and is a traditional grassland farm where cattle and sheep are reared on the rich pasture. Most of the land has not been ploughed for over 400 years, ensuring old species of native grasses are retained.

The CRT purchased Turnastone Court Farm in January 2003 when the ancient meadows were at risk of being turned into potato farms. Local residents contacted us to let us know about the worrying prospects of the farm, and how the wildlife-rich area would be negatively affected.

Based in the heart of cider country, Turnastone is home to two traditional orchards, featuring widely-spaced trees of apple and pear varieties, providing a beautiful blossom display in the Spring.
